Thailand is a state in Southeast Asia with numerous tropical beaches, luxurious royal palaces, ancient ruins and richly decorated Buddhist temples. In Bangkok, the country's capital, next to ultra-modern skyscrapers along the canals, quiet residential areas and iconic temples are located: Wat Arun, Wat Pho and the Temple of the Emerald Buddha (Wat Phrakeu). Not far from the city are beach resorts, including populous Pattaya and fashionable Hua Hin.
